Eye Exams and Eyeglasses
The Oak Ridge Lions Club partners with Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) and the Eye Center of Oak Ridge to help local residents within the Oak Ridge city limits who cannot afford eye exams and/or eyeglasses. Other Lions Clubs meet these needs in their geographical areas according to procedures established by each Lions Club.
Oak Ridge residents requesting assistance are asked to apply through ADFAC (Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties) located at 1051 Oak Ridge Turnpike (do not use this address for mail) at the corner of Lafayette Avenue and the Oak Ridge Turnpike. Their phone number is (865) 483-6028. ADFAC will provide qualifying information to the Lions Club. Note that some children are qualified to receive glasses under certain programs of the State of Tennessee.
